Job Title: Outlet Parts Manager

Reports To: Group Parts Manager

Position Overview

The Outlet Parts Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the parts department, ensuring optimal parts sales, inventory turnover, and profitability. This role focuses on maintaining high standards in customer service, stock quality, and operational efficiency. The manager will lead a team of parts staff, ensuring clear communication, task allocation, and consistent execution of processes. The position also supports the development and implementation of departmental strategies and initiatives.


Key Responsibilities

  • Allocate daily tasks to parts staff, matching duties with individual skills and experience.
  • Ensure all team members clearly understand the department’s objectives, responsibilities, and expectations.
  • Monitor monthly sales performance to achieve or exceed budgeted sales and profitability targets.
  • Collaborate in the creation and execution of the annual Parts Marketing Plan.
  • Maintain consistent application of company policies and procedures across all parts operations (ordering, receiving, inventory, sales, returns, and marketing).
  • Uphold a clean, safe, and well-organized work environment in the parts department.
  • Process parts warranty and return claims accurately and on time to maximize eligible credits.
  • Support employee development through training and may be involved in conducting performance evaluations.
  • Assist with front counter sales to ensure timely and effective customer support.
  • Manage JD Place sales and maintain a visually appealing showroom that drives customer interest and part sales.
  • Play an active role in recruiting, onboarding, and developing the outlet’s parts team.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in a parts-related business, preferably in agricultural or heavy equipment sectors.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a team.
  • Strong analytical abilities for reviewing reports and identifying performance trends.
  • Proficient in standard computer applications and internet-based tools.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Familiarity with John Deere products and those of competitors is a strong asset.
  • Willingness to work extended hours and weekends when necessary.
